SPOKEN WORD POETRY COMPETITION
Competition Mechanics
CONTEST MECHANICS:
1. The contest is open to all bonafide Students of NPC.
2. Each participant is limited to only one (1) entry.
3. The spoken word poetry must be an original composition, in English or Filipino. Any quote from other writers may be used provided that proper attribution is made of the work and the author.
4. The entry must illustrate, interpret, emphasize, and be relevant to the theme: “WE for gender equality and inclusive society”
5. Each contestant has to submit a video of the delivery of their originally written spoken poetry piece. The overall video must have a minimum of 2 mins and a maximum of 3 mins recorded video inclusive of
1. Opening which contains the name of the contestant, Course, year, and the title of the entry.
2. Recorded performance
3. End credits/acknowledgment
6. Sounds, instrumental or music background is allowed to complement the delivery, but should not distract from the piece and the performance. No deduction shall be made if the contestant chooses not to have any musical background.
7. Each participant must submit a copy of the written text in Word or pdf file and the video file submission must be in MP4 format, preferably saved in high resolution. The file submitted must follow this name format: < NPC_Surname,First-Name_Course >
8. Participants shall submit their entries to this email: gad@navotaspolytechniccollege@edu.ph.
9. Upon submission of entries, all contestants automatically give consent to Navotas Polytechnic College – Gender and Development Committee to use the videos for whatever purpose it may serve.
10. Deadline of Submission: May 24, 2023
11. The announcement of winners will be on May 25, 2023.
12. Entries that do not follow the guidelines shall bear deductions, or automatically disqualified.

Relevance to the Theme 30%
Creativity/Style and Originality 20%
Coherence of Form and Structure 20%
Delivery 30%
1st Place: 1,000.00 worth of load and a Certificate of Recognition
2nd Place: 700.00 worth of load and a Certificate of Recognition
3rd Place: 500 worth of load and a Certificate of Recognition
Consolations: 200 worth of load and a Certificate of Participation
